Villas Landscape Planning (LandPlan) Committee

Meeting Notes:  September 11, 2008

Discussion Items:

 

Update:  The Chair informed the committee that two members (Lee Elliott and Mary Lou Kuehl) have resigned from the committee due to other responsibilities.

 

Emery informed the members that three proposals had been received in response to the RFP for Phase I landscaping that was released by JCA (Shenandoah, Meadow Farms, and Rose Gardner).  Additional proposals still may be forthcoming.  The committee will review and evaluate the bids and prepare a recommendation for the Board.

 

The Board Liaison hopes to have the proposal recommendation ready for presentation to the Board at the next meeting on 9/25.

 

The preparation of template planting/foundation beds is continuing with members sharing ideas and resources.  Draft templates will be reviewed at the next committee meeting.

 

Members re-confirmed that one of the early decisions made by the committee included actions to present the draft master plan to the Villa neighborhood for resident input prior to finalization.  Some form of preliminary presentation will be made for Villa residents prior to the formal presentation of the full plan to the Board.

 

Decisions Made:

 

Committee members will develop a variety of templates for various proposed planting beds and have them ready for review at the next meeting.

 

The next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2008.

 

Action Items:

 

  1. Prepare “template” or model planting beds to use as a guide for implementation of the Master Landscape plan and continue to share identified resource information. (All)

 

  1. Provide copies of proposals for review and evaluation by committee members. (Emery)

 

  1. Continue to conduct research on available resources for both materials and information. (All)

 

  1. Continue to recruit members for the committee. (All)
