Villas Landscape Planning (LandPlan) Committee

Meeting Notes:  July 10, 2008

Discussion Items:

Committee members continued to refine the revised draft of the Villa design plan refining some of the recommended plants and incorporating the proposal for smaller planting areas throughout the community and adjacent to the villa units. 

There was continuing discussion of the presentation that Emery would address to the Board on July 24.  The presentation will emphasize that the committee is proposing a comprehensive, long-term plan with the initial focus being on Phase I activities – i.e. those which are reflected in the proposed budget request for the upcoming year.  The Phase I budget request would address three large areas:

• Legend Gate

• The point at Turtle Creek and Harborton, including the utility area

• The hill between Plantation Drive and the end of Aspen Hill

In addition, barrier plants for three parking areas are included in the proposed Phase I activities.  The Committee Chair has submitted an estimated budget as per the Board’s request.

Decisions Made:

Packets will be prepared for distribution to the Board members and meeting attendees.

A special ad hoc meeting will be scheduled for July 17 which will be a working session to prepare final materials for the presentation of the design plan.

Action Items:

1. Remind all committee members of the meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 17 at 4:00 (Emery).

2. Refine the graphic display of the long term Villa Landscaping plan and prepare final remarks for the Board presentation. (Emery and all)

3. Continue to conduct research on available resources for both materials and information. (All)

4. Continue to recruit members for the committee. (All)
