Committee Reports:

·   Roads, Sidewalks, Streetlights, Mailboxes     

            -Woody Wilmoth prepared a list of sidewalks, curbs and ramps that are in need of repair because of cracks, chips or separations.  Don Webb will give the list to Sylva.

            -Ken Burke checked the mailboxes, tightened several boxes in the Villas, and reported boxes in need of repair to Sylva.  

·   SWM Ponds

            -Ken Burke checks the ponds after rain storms.  He stated that the ponds are draining properly, as per county requirements.

            -County requirements for management of SWM ponds state that the ponds are to be mowed twice a year, once in early spring and again in the fall.  We did not have Shenandoah do the spring mowing. but they will weed whack in late fall.  We will ask Shenandoah to mow twice next year.                                                             

·   Grounds and Landscaping

            -Reduced Mowing areas will continue to be monitored.

            -The Statement of Work for the 4 designated areas of the Master Plan that have been chosen for 2008 implementation will be sent to 3 or 4 landscape companies for bidding.

 

Review of the Property & Grounds Committee 2008 Budget Requests:

-Repair and paint wooden trellises at entrances @ $3,000.  (In progress.)

-Repair and paint metal railing on block walls  @ $2,000.  (In progress.)

-Seasonal flowers @$13,000.  (Approximately $3,500 has been spent.)

-Watering @ $13,000.

-Tree trimming/removal @ $10,000.

-Tree/shrub replacement @ $5,000.

-Clean storm water management ponds @ $5,000.   (Not needed this year.)

-Clean storm run-off drain system @ $5,000.  (Not needed this year.)

-Wash streets to remove winter sand @ $1,000.  (Not needed this year.)

-Garden club @ $500.  (Approximately $150.00 has been spent so far.)

-Master Plan $50,000

 

Proposed budget for 2009:

-Seasonal flowers @$10,000. 

-Watering @ $13,000.

-Tree trimming/removal @ $10,000.

-Tree/shrub replacement @ $5,000.

-Clean storm water management ponds @ $5,000.  

-Clean storm run-off drain system @ $5,000.

-Wash streets to remove winter sand @ $1,000.

-Garden club @ $200 

-Master Plan $50,000

And if the work was not competed in 2008, include:

-Repair and paint wooden trellises at entrances @ $3,000. 

-Repair and paint metal railing on block walls  @ $2,000.
