Notes – Com Com Meeting, August 1, 2007

Attendees:  Dan Augustine, Len Godek, Marvin Koontz, Jack Mounts, Chair, Communications Committee; Dan Owens, BOD; Sylva Southwell, Ann Jones.

1.  Status of Channel 20 equipment:  The presentations equipment for the Channel 20 is being repaired after an electrical storm surge.  Sylva is looking into obtaining surge protection through the local Virginia power company.

2.  Implementation of Emergency Numbers listing by Concierges:  Ann said that the Concierges were informed as to how to use the listing.

3.  Welcome Committee:  Joan Ryan and Mary Grace Niemi are putting the finishing touches on the package to be given to new residents.  Attendees at the meeting agreed that the letter to be given to the new residents should come from the BOD and have paragraphs introducing Ann and Sylva and their functions.

4.  Implementing FRIS:

-- Because of the large number of high priority projects facing Falls Run, implementation of FRIS will put on hold until Sylva has some time to take the proper implementation steps.  However, Com Com members will be helping her to conduct the remainder of the FR Census.

-- The second letter to FR owners who did not return the Tenant Certification Form was sent on July 24.

-- It was agreed that there seems to be no way of transmitting the FRIS db from FR to Armstrong electronically.  However, review of the Connect System after the meeting showed that most of the data elements required for FRIS were already in the Connect system and that manual transfer of the db should not be very difficult.

-- The review of detailed implementation steps by Sylva, Ann and the Concierges will be accomplished when Sylva has more time for FRIS implementation.
