PURPOSE
The purpose of the club is to foster the sport of fishing
amongst the residents of the Falls Run community.
MEMBERSHIP
Club membership is limited to residents of the Falls Run Community.
MEETINGS
During the months of November through February there are usually no meetings. Meetings begin in March and continue through October. The dates and times for meetings are not fixed. Persons on the membership roster are informed of meetings via email. Also, notices are posted on Channel 20 and Falls Run Yahoo Groups.
OPERATIONS
The club has two divisions that generally meet jointly, since many members have an interest in, and are active in, both. One division is the FRESHWATER DIVISION. The focus of that division is directed to streams, lakes and rivers, including tidal locations that are not considered deep saltwater fisheries. The other division is the SALTWATER DIVISION. That division focuses on the Chesapeake Bay, Lower Potomac, Lower Rappahannock, Lower Patuxent and other saltwater areas. Neither group’s future interest is envisioned to be restricted to local or regional activity. Excursions to large inland lakes, Canadian lakes and distant saltwater locations could develop in the future.
ADVANTAGES OF MEMBERSHIP
The club can arrange for speakers on subjects related to our purpose. For instance, we have had seminars by Gander Mountain. We currently are arranging charters on the Chesapeake Bay. Members are partnering to fish locally for shad in the Rappahannock and for fishing in several lakes in the region. Beginners, novices and expert fishermen, male and female, are able to learn more about fishing and enjoy good times together at moderate expense. While membership is limited to Falls Run residents there is no restriction on participation in activities by non-resident guests of members.
