Community Center Committee

Minutes of Community Center Committee meeting October 19, 2007

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Jo Schmidt at 1 PM

Members in attendance: Jo Schmidt, Rich Lazanov, Bill Smith, Bob Gilbert & Tom Bruns.  Also attending Ann Jones, Activities Director and Jack Mounts, BOD candidate.

New business:

Ann Jones advised that the ID card printer was not operating.  The cost to repair is $1,600, the cost to replace $2,000.  This led to a discussion of possible options.  It was agreed that the temporary fix will be to make laminated cards.  This will insure compliance with Community Center rules, while other remedies are explored.

Jo will have Community Center Committee added to the Falls Run Web site.  He will also have the meeting schedule changed to the 3^rd Friday at 1 PM (change from 3 PM).

Jack Mounts discussed with the committee how it inter-acts with the Board of Directors and other committees.

Old business:

It was agreed that Jo would request Sylva to issue a work order to Barranger Co Inc to perform preventive maintenance on the two fold door partitions in the multi-purpose room.  Jo would also request Sylva to issue a work order to repair the Centers sound system.

Jo will present to Art a proposal from Lin Baily to build a coat rack.

Bill Smith presented costs identifications for the operation of the Community Center.  Bill and Jo will present them to the Finance Committee for their review.

Rich Lazanov presented costs for 2 additional curb cuts, including necessary painting, for the safety of handicapped people.  Jo will submit to the Finance Committee

Jo Schmidt presented proposal to replace 5 old TVs in fitness room with 3 42” HD TVs.  He will submit the proposal to the Finance Committee.

Kurt Schaffert will discuss copy machine costs and alternatives.

Mary Owens will report on phone system costs and alternatives.
