Greeting Falls Run! (sounds like the beginning of a Star Wars movie :) ) I hope this finds you enjoying your summer and staying out of the heat wave... The pool sure has been busy with many of you taking the time for a cool dip.. Here are a few things I want to make sure you have marked on your calendar....
1. Please take note of the terrific Gettysburg trip that we are offering.. sign ups END next Friday, July 16th. All we need now is a $100 non-refundable deposit with the balance due September 10th. Please sign up if you are planning on going on this trip. So many times we have people who want to sign up but they have waited until after the deadline and we have had to cancel due to low participation. This is a great trip and much thought has been put into creating a trip that will be enjoyable to all of our residents whether or not you are a history buff....however, a bird told me that there will be a visit from Abraham Lincoln himself!!
2. Don't forget that we have a produce stand at the center every Wednesday, weather permitting, 8:30-11:30. This past Wednesday he had LOTS of fresh fruit and vegetables....
3. Tonight's movie is It's Complicated starring Meryl Strep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.. rated R
4. Zumba is going well. We have had some interest in an afternoon class. I am looking into the possibility of a 4:00 pm class ...I need to know if there is interest, please email me directly at fallsrunad@yahoo.com.

BYOB and bring an appetizer to share..doors open at 6:30, music starts at 7:00pm...$10 per person..ps: if it is smoking hot, like 95 plus, we will move indoors but I don't anticipate that happening.. well, unless you all make it hot ! :)
6. The last day to sign up for our trip to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to view the exhibit of Tiffany: Color and Light is THIS TUESDAY, July 13th. This trip cost $38 which includes the exhibit fee and guided tour, transportation and drivers gratuity. Lunch is on your own at the Museum Cafe with ample time to enjoy all the museum has to offer including time in the gift shop!

Friday, August 13th.. the bus departs at 1pm and departs after the last race @ 11:15pm (this is just to let you know that it is a long day).. You will receive a $15 free gambling gift card for the slots. With dinner on your own, the cost is $25. With dinner in the Skyline Terrace, the cost is $60 per person. I was just telling Elizabeth, this mornings concierge on duty, that I woke up after a horrible dream last night.... I was getting ready for our annual holiday gala, at the Riverside, and when I showed up an hour prior to the event, there were only 3 tables set. (we were expecting 180 people) AND to make matters worse, I had forgotten to schedule any entertainment so I ran into Cathy (DJ) at the grocery store and asked her if she would fill in..then a guy showed up as the entertainment that apparently I had signed up a year earlier..... anyway, just to let you know, today, I am working on the Holiday Gala!!!!
Finally, I do want to recognize the Social Committee for their hard work on the July 3rd Ice Cream Social... 125 people attended and I have heard nothing but rave reviews for the ice cream and the fun events that took place that day. Thank you all for supporting this event and I hope that your little ones enjoyed the opportunity to get their face painted, balloons and swimming!
